How long does it take to become a pediatric nurse practitioner and what are the requirements, starting from the freshman year of college (i.e. start with a nursing major and take it for four years to obtain a BSN, do internships really help, what specific type of graduate school, etc)? Also, from your own perspective, is this a challenging career to study and actually work in? I heard that being an RN itself is a rewarding job, and I really would like to know more about this career. Thanks =)

What is the difference between a LPN and a nurse practitioner? How many years of schooling do you need to become a nurse practiontioner? What is the salary of both?

as a nurse, what should you do if you’re about to get off from work and the nurse who will be in charge of your patients calls and says she’ll be 30min-1hr late?

i would assume you would just have to stay until she gets there. is there another option or a better answer?

I live in Georgia, if that helps, I’m not sure if the laws are different. I am about to complete my associates degree in nursing. I have heard recently that the law is about to change so that you have to have a doctorate degree to be a CNM, and to be a family nurse practitioner. (Although my professor’s have not confirmed this, they said the idea has been tossed around for a while though) Is this true? If not, would a master’s degree still allow you to become a FNP, or CNM?

I know that becoming a doctor requires many years of medical school and training and endless nights of studying. However, a nurse practitioner only needs 2 years of graduate school. Which is worth it?

While I was visiting the doctor, I over heard this nurse saying she had not taken her recert for being a nurse. She then said it has been a year since her license has expired. I dont fell that she should still practice medicine. She is rather older, and I feel she may have forgot a couple of things. Will someone help me out?

I was wondering how you go about becoming an ultrasound nurse and perhaps how much the education costs(approximately). Also, how long do you have to go to school for it?

I am a hopeful nursing student and I am taking all my prerequisites to get into a nursing program…I often hear how half of the students drop out of the program and how those who graduate and get a position sometimes realize that nursing is not for them…and honestly I really don ‘t want that to happen to me.
I am a very good student and I am very driven to be a nurse…I know that I would definately be able to handle the academic component. I have also worked in customer service in retail and I know that I am very personable and genuinely care about the people I serve. I love dealing with the general public…but what else does it take?

Hi all! I have a question for you. How much money do Registered Nurses (RNs) usually start out making after graduating from school with their RN Associate’s degree? I’d like to be a travelling nurse myself eventually. Do you think RNs start out making at least $60k their first year in a normal workweek without any overtime? Also, can RNs work for the US federal government too? Thanks!
