What is the best route to becoming a nurse?

Right now I’m a secretary at a health clinic. I already have a BA in a non-nursing field, and I really want to go to nursing school. I’d like to know what I need to do to become a nurse from this stage in my life: be a nurse’s aide, volunteer at a hospital, if I should get a BSN (since I already have a BA), etc. Thank you!
