Whats the difference between a midwife and a nurse practitioner?

So my next appt is the 23rd and I noticed I am not seeing the midwife I saw in the beginning, that I have actually been seeing a nurse practitioner since appt 2. What exactly is a “woman’s health nurse practitioner”? She has done all my exams and is the one that did the ultrasound and everything, so is she basically the same thing with slightly different title? I am just confused.

Is it okay for the nurses to leave the room after inducing labor?

The nurses that induced my labor (pitocin drip) had me on a fetal monitor, but they left the room for hours at a time. Is this safe practice? I have heard other people say you should not be left alone when you are induced.
